Chaos

A.N.: I'm in one of those yay!babies!!omgomgomg moods again, and unfortunately Raleigh is getting the brunt of it xP It also means I can have me some toddler!Ewan too x)

Raleigh frowned at the colourful little handprints coating his wall, and then at the paint covered toddler in a pair of dungarees. "Showing an artist side, huh Ewan?" he asked the little lad.

Ewan grinned at him, flashing him a toothy smile. Placing his paint covered hands palm flat on the floor, the little boy pushed himself up to stand on his feet and walked over to the spot Raleigh was scrutinising and added to his little 'masterpiece'. "Wehday did it." he explained.

"Wednesday isn't here today," Raleigh replied. Raleigh had taken up babysitting the twins for his niece since she and Jamie were particularly busy over the past month. Plus, it gave the two time alone. However, it worked in reverse for Raleigh, meaning he got less time to spend with Elliot. Not that he was complaining; Elliot loved kids. Wednesday had an appointment with the dentist, which Jamie was dealing with. Kate was working and the poor man could barely cope with both of his children when he had back-up. Dealing with Ewan and Wednesday on his own would bring about the End of The World, or at least a great cataclysm the likes of New York had never seen before. To keep Jamie out of an early grave, Raleigh stepped up to help. He could postpone his own work and look after the little boy. Ewan wasn't too hard to deal with, and he was getting used to being at Raleigh's apartment.

Usually, however, Raleigh had back-up in the form of Elliot. Today, it was just Ewan and himself as Elliot was at work for most of the day. But, Raleigh thought he could cope. Ewan didn't get into everything like his sister. Often, he could be content with his toys and Raleigh could even get a few concept sketches done while keeping a watchful eye on the toddler.

It had been like that, until a bathroom break. Ewan was being rather quiet, but Raleigh assumed he was just playing very intently, and went to make himself a coffee to drink. Coming back to the area of his home that was the lounge; where he had left Ewan, Raleigh was greeted by the lack of a toddler and nothing but the toys he had brought with him. It was then Raleigh had to search to find out where little Ewan had managed to get.

And where he 'got' was into Raleigh's art supplies.

And then proceeded to develop his artistic talent with them - and Raleigh's wall.

With a sigh, Raleigh knelt down to Ewan's level. "I'm going to have to clean you up now," he informed the boy. "That means 'bath time', Ewan."

Ewan smiled that toothy smile again. "Oh-tay!" he said gleefully, and held out his arms towards Raleigh.

If the mess on his wall was what Ewan was capable with when it came to paints, the mess in the bathroom reflected Ewan's talents with water and bubbles. When Elliot came home the first thing he noticed was the little multicoloured handprints on the wall. There were two sets of wet footprints coming out of and back into -several times- of the bathroom. Wondering just what had happened, Elliot made his way to the lounge area and saw Raleigh slumped across the sofa. Ewan was nestled between the man's body and the back of the sofa, his head pillowed on Raleigh's chest. He was sleeping, his thumb in his mouth, obviously lulled to sleep by the gentle rise and fall of the chest he was resting against.

A smile spread across Elliot's face as he saw that Raleigh had passed out too. As uncomfortable as he looked, Elliot just couldn't bring himself to wake the older man. Not only because it risked waking Ewan up, but because the scene was just too cute to disturb.
